THE FULL STORY

Putting Joy Into Design

'The Arts' have always been a passion of mine, particularly Interior Design. I have always had an enthusiasm for communicating feeling through innovative spaces. Throughout my educational career, I’ve had the great fortune to work on some truly inspiring projects, while meeting many influential and creative individuals along the way. I believe in working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

I’ve always been an admirer of the arts in almost every way. From the age of 10 I’ve been involved in theatre; whether that be performing or helping to make costumes and props. I was an active member of Leicester Theatre Group for four years. I’ve often helped manage shows and assisted the costume and props department when they needed additional support.  This involved making pom-pom costumes for Suessical the Musical and helping graffiti the sets of Urinetown to make them look realistic and worn. I continued to pursue the arts subjects in school by studying GCSE Drama and GCSE Textiles; the latter gave me an understanding of textures and materials and how they can affect a piece or garment.  My garments featured in the school catwalk and I was often called upon to assist other students who needed support. I continued in school and studied Graphic Communication at A Level, improving my digital and practical skills as well as expanding my creativity and knowledge of the arts.

I am currently a third year student studying Interior Design at Norwich University Of The Arts. Throughout my studies I have been taught an abundance of new skills, from digital 3D model making to hand drawn technical drawings. I have had the opportunity to compete in live projects, one of which my team successfully won. I have designed residential, commercial and landscaping spaces all of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Some of my favourites include, Corpusty Primary Children's Library,  NUA x ENSF Brand Space and The Retreat, which you can see online here.
